Service Level Agreement

Outline of service
Provision of a high quality, cost effective and comprehensive service to schools delivered by qualified and experienced HR Consultants. We strive to operate at the highest standards of professional competency, conduct and confidentiality and to provide advice and assistance in accordance with the requirements of all relevant education and employment legislation.

Our core services are outlined in the left hand column below.  A number of additional services are outlined in the right hand column. These services may be purchased, as required,  at additional cost.

HR Advice  
Provision of an HR advice line staffed by qualified and experienced ‘schools’ HR professionals operates during the following hours: 8.30am to 5pm - Monday to Friday
Evening Advice available by prior agreement
Terms and Conditions  
Advice and guidance on the interpretation and application of pay and conditions of service for teachers and support staff including performance management  
Policy and Procedure  
Interpretation and advice on policy, procedure and the law relating to the management of disciplinary, capability, grievance, sickness absence,  restructuring and redundancy including advice on resolution and structure for meetings, DDA implications and duties relating to reasonable adjustments Advice and support on the relevant family friendly policies and procedures including maternity and paternity. 
  • Disciplinary investigation service
Employee Relations  
Advice and support on employee relations and industrial relations matters including trade union involvement and consultation  
Managing Change  
Supporting change processes which may include preparing for and implementing proposals for new staffing structures, including advice on consultation requirements, notification and involvement of staff and unions, redeployment, early retirement and redundancy arrangements and estimates.  
Employee Fitness  
Actioning referrals to Occupational Health and communicating advice received to facilitate the resolution of health and absence issues impacting on schools.  
Recruitment & Selection  
Advice and guidance on the recruitment, selection and appointment of staff including safer recruitment and special circumstances effecting the recruitment of staff including the right to work in the UK  
Supporting the Governing Body with the recruitment and selection process for Head Teacher posts which includes advice on placing the advertisement, content and design of application packs, optional assessment methods as well as managing candidate responses and requesting references on behalf of the governing body.

Advice on learning, individual and organisational development

Termly HR e-newsletter providing information on relevant changes to employment law which may affect schools and up and coming changes to terms and conditions of service.  

Our services will complement the statutory HR services that your LA is responsible for providing to all of its maintained schools.  If you would like further information about the LA HR responsibilities please ask. 

Schools Converting to Academies
We offer a HR support service for schools converting to academy status, this includes advice and guidance on the transfer of employment (TUPE). We can also assist with:
